Witham woman fatally struck by train at Chelmsford railway station is named

A WOMAN who died after being hit by a train at Chelmsford railway station last week has been named.

Lorraine Allison Sands, 53, of Witham, was discovered by officers on the line last Tuesday (July 8).

Train services, which were already running with large delays due to a broken down train near Ilford, were further delayed following the incident – which happened at around 9.45pm – by around one hour, while emergency services attended the scene.
