Andrew Geldard, Chief Executive Officer of the North Essex Partnership Foundation Trust (NEP), has resigned after seven years in the job.
Mr Geldard was appointed in 2008 after serving as chief finance officer and director of resources at the trust.
The NEP has struggled in recent years with tighter mental health budgets, damning CQC reports and, this year, two juries finding the trust had failed patients in the lead up to their deaths.
